Book Wealth To WRITERS: VALUE

Continuing our writing on value in/of books, we need to touch some on how it affects Writers. No doubt Jules Verne, Samuel Clemens, Richard Paul Evans, Robert G. Allen and many others are familiar with the wealth and value in books. Yet there was a value going the other direction from them i.e. the investment to get a work up and in the stores. Value nonetheless!

Not being there yet, … a Published Author per se: we will only address this value from a ‘Hear Say’ perspective. We hope that this will spark you to comment and/or even E-Mail us with your experience.

From what we understand, Publishers will not talk to Authors, unless they are already established, e.g. ‘A best Selling Author’ already. Even Agents without a record of accomplishment have a hard time, except it be a ‘Hot Item’ they are representing.

Just getting started writing We have only been to one ‘Author’s Conference’ yet heard several ‘Published’ writers, even self publishing, report how expensive it was to get their work printed. Then they tell about the finally Published book and all the hard work and cost to promote and sell it when it is. Apparently, the publisher takes their hands off the book after the printing.

We believe that from the completion of the manuscript, (Not even counting the research expense.) to getting it in stores to sell it runs as high, as $20-30,000.00. What do the PoBoys and Girls do or where do they go? There is an answer now, and knowing how and where is a blessing! More about that blessing below!

Therefore, in conclusion, We know that there is a value in a book that most people never think about when they buy one. All we know is that we see something different in a book now, when we look at it then we did as little as a year ago.
